My January solopreneur online business review seemed to go down well so here I am with my February business review! It was a tricky one as we had half-term and an INSET day and at the start of the month I swanned off to Amsterdam from Sun - Weds with my friends.
In total, I worked 55 hours in the entire month of February (which is less than most employed people taking home the same pay as me probably do in one week - forever grateful to have left the rat race).
This part-time entrepreneurship gig has its upsides and downsides. Here’s what this looked like last month…
The Benefits of a Low-Hour Work Week as a Solopreneur
Upsides of working just 55 hours last month:
👧🏻 I got to spend half-term with my daughter and we had some well needed chill time at home. We also had time to go visit family - including my 94 year old nana!
🇳🇱 I went to Amsterdam with my 2 besties! We did 2 museums, ate some incredible food, wept around Anne Frank’s house and finished it all by seeing my fav band in the world: Deftones. What a trip!
🧘 I made it to 6 Pilates classes which all goes towards my goal of doing 100 classes in 2026…
⏱️ Lack of time to do much marketing pushed me to get my Facebook ads running again. I’m glad I did this as I grew my email list and made some low ticket sales which goes back towards ad spend.
Challenges of Managing an Online Business with Limited Time
Downsides of only having 55 hours to work:
💰 It was tricky to find the time to make new sales and a lot of February’s revenue was actually secured in January (grateful for that).
⏰ I put my clients first so there was very little time to work on my business. I still managed to spend 12 hours on my own marketing throughout the month though!
🏃 My big March promo (stay tuned) all has to be prepared in March as I had zero time to prep for this in Feb.
Why Stepping Away From Your Desk Leads to Business Breakthroughs
My biggest win was thanks to having time away from my desk. My brain always works things out in the background, I just need to give it quiet time to shuffle the solution to the front of my mind.
I’d been struggling with what to do with my Spark membership to improve the results my clients are getting and BINGO!!! I came up with an evolution I’m really excited to roll out. Stay tuned 👀.
Scaling a Membership and the Power of Client Feedback
There were 2 more things that had a positive impact on my business in February.
1️⃣ Going to those 6 Pilates classes. A healthy body and rested mind meant I was able to show up as my best self to maximise every second of the 55 hours I had available to work.
2️⃣ I asked my Spark clients for Google reviews and I got a bunch of 5-star reviews that confirmed this membership is brilliant and worth investing some more time into this year.
Reflections on Lifestyle Design and Entrepreneurial Growth
I’m always striving for big numbers and progress with my business so it’s easy for me to feel frustrated at the end of a month like February and feel like I’m moving with glacial pace.
However, doing a review like this always reminds me that I have the best job in the world for my desired lifestyle right now. I should never take for granted the fact that I get paid very well and there are many people working 60 hour weeks for my salary.
If I had more time, would I really make more money? I’m not sure…
Is this style of review still interesting? If it is, comment below to let me know and I’ll repeat it for March (BIG things planned so it should be juicy!).
Cheering you on!
Kelly
