Entrepreneurship and the 20-Hour Week: My Typical Wednesday
Every evening, I look back over the day and choose the best thing that happened. Last week I had one of those moments where I was SO grateful for the life I have created.
Designing a 20-Hour Week Schedule
This was my Wednesday:
7.30am Get up
8.30am Walk P to school
10am Reformer pilates class
11.30am work from the gym cafe
12.30pm Head home from the gym for lunch
2pm Private client call
3.25pm School run to collect P
4pm Have a snack with P and chat about our day
4.30pm Help P with her maths homework
5pm Bake a loaf of bread and make dinner
6pm-8pm Doing all the “get your 8 year old to bed at a decent time” activities
9pm Watch Traitors with Adam
10pm Bedtime with my book (I’m currently reading The Birdcage Library)
🙏🏻 As I lay in bed casting my mind back over the day, there were so many great things to be grateful for!
Why I Chose Entrepreneurship Over the 9-5
But the highlight was spending that time after school with P. If I was working a 9-5, I probably wouldn’t get home until 6pm and by then, it’s too late to do all that stuff.
I am living my big dream from that moment back in 2019 when I decided to go all in on my own business so that I wouldn’t need to use after school childcare for P.
My dream life might seem a bit vanilla, but the things that make me happy are:
♥️ Spending time with my family
♥️ Staying fit and eating healthy foods
♥️ Peace of mind
Balancing Profit and the 20-Hour Week
I wanted to share this because even though I talk about making money (that’s what marketing is for!), I want you to know that money isn’t everything to me!
Peace of mind comes from being able to pay for stuff we need (and my gym membership!) but the best things in life really are free.
If this resonated with you, I’d love for you to hit comment and tell me ❣️
